Romantic, elegant and thought to be the inspiration to Jane Austin's Barton House in her iconic novel Sense and Sensibility, Pynes House sits quietly on its own 37 acre private Estate in Exeter and this May was host to Rachel and Tom's beautiful Spring wedding.
As a wedding photographer I am regularly offered the opportunity to visit and photograph some of the most beautiful and unique venues in the country (in my opinion) and Pynes House is no exception which is why I am honoured to have been recommended by them as a photographer and to have been chosen by Rachel and Tom to cover their beautiful Devon wedding, which was so thoughtfully planned
Although Pynes House feels rather grand, especially when driving through the long tree lined driveway, it was lovely to engage in such a relaxed atmosphere upon arrival.
Rachel and Tom even had a few photo's together in the gardens, before their wedding ceremony (I thought this was a brilliant idea as the British weather can be unpredictable at times), which was held at Newton St. Cyres church just down the road.
After vows were exchanged and the happy couple were congratulated by their guests with a showering of dried rose petals, we made our way back to Pynes House where we were greeted by sounds of a harpist playing beautifully in the gardens, along with canapés and drinks.
The wedding breakfast followed, leading on to some very entertaining speeches (I was smiling behind my camera, A LOT!), which were made by the bride herself, father of the bride, best man and the groom.
Rachel and Tom performed their first dance to live music performed by 'Harbour Band' who sounded as cool as they looked (I'd book them!). I also loved Rachel's 'twirling', this made for great photo's!
I departed to the scene of a very lively wedding party, dancing the night away and having a lot of fun!
Rachel and Tom, thank you so very much for choosing me as your wedding photographer (and for the delicious food btw), and allowing me to be part of your special day. I wish you many years of happiness and hope these photographs bring great joy!
